Festival Advisors
Ercument Akman
Born 1950, Istanbul, Turkey, he is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University teaching graduate courses and an advisor on Real Estate Graduate program. His film writing and international film festival coverage appeared in Turkish newspapers and magazines. He did research and film Programming at (Devlet Film Arsivi) National Film Archive, State Academy of Fine Arts, Istanbul. Between 1987 and 1998 he was a director at Toronto Film Society for membership, publicity and programming. He is the founder/director of Silk | ROAD (2004) a digital production and film education company and the founder/editor of Turkish Cinema Newsletter (1997 - 1998 Toronto | 1998 - 2010 Washington DC).
He is member of Film Programmers International and an independent curator of film programs for Freer and Sackler Galleries of Art, National Gallery Art and Goethe Institute. He juried and presented Turkish Films and directors in Istanbul, Toronto, Washington DC and London based film festivals.
Louis Savy
Louis Savy is the founder and festival director for the London International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film (SCI-FI-LONDON), which just celebrated its tenth anniversary. In addition, he runs regular workshops and surgery sessions for the capital's film agency, Film London and the Independent Cinema Office. Louis has produced many corporate films and developed projects for young filmmakers across the country. He has a wide interest in film and festivals and is currently writing a book on festival management and best practice. He lives in London with his partner and three children.
