After last year's LTFF Golden Wings Digital Distribution Award winning Cycle, Derviş Zaim continues to focus on the relationship of man's relationship with nature, but this time with a more fictionally dramatic story. Set in a small town beside a lake, Fish is a tale of Kaya, a fisherman who’s trying to make ends meet for his family. His wife Filiz believes in the healing power of mother nature, especially in regard to their daughter Deniz's inexplicable speech loss. When nature seems to offer a cure, Kaya's attempts to finance a new business opportunity leads to dire consequences. Bigger fish may not always result in simply bigger profits when the natural world is being exploited rather than preserved is the message of Zaim's powerful allegory.
